Restaurants in Beijing
Beijing offers a great choice of cuisine and has the best menus in the
world. Not very long ago, a visitor to Beijing had no real choice but
to dine in the Beijing Hotel as the only option. Nowadays the locals are
very well aware of what the tourists like and they make every effort to
please and welcome them.
The only problem is that there are so many restaurants, that they come
and go in the blink of an eye because of the competition among them.
One can choose cuisine from a diverse group of restaurants that specialise
in all sorts of international cuisine. If its French cuisine, Thai food,
African specialities, or some good home style Chinese cooking, one has
a great choice and range of dishes to whet ones appetite. In the Chinese
culinary cookbook, you can choose from Shanghai food, or dishes from the
Tibet region and many more different regions of China are on offer.
The majority of the city's restaurants are to be found in the eastern
and central part of Beijing, which are the Chao Yang and the Dong Cheng
districts. It is not possible to try them all. One would need several
months to take in all the different dishes.
